Welcome to peterharkin.com! I hope you can find some interesting content and maybe see some good images. This website should give you a good idea of what I do. I’m an experienced award-winning photographer based in Galway, Ireland, and I cover all kinds of work. I’ve always been inspired by images and motivated to create them. Despite my experience I try to approach each job with fresh eyes, as I have learned and relearned the art of seeing over many projects and photo-shoots.
Photography, as an aesthetic form, is in the eye of the beholder. But still, there is a reasonthat Picasso paintings are worth a lot of money- and a reason why some people can consistently take good pictures. There is a modern phenomenon that has seen everybody become in some sense a photographer. That phone in your pocket, that tiny camcorder in your bag- the electronics market has made media creators of us all. This is skewed the view of the professional in some places as someone who does what everyone can do but with more expensive equipment. It’s not about the camera! It’s about the eye, the attention to detail, the knowledge of technique, the commitment to guiding things into the frame, or leaving them out, the vision to plan and manage a shoot, and so on and on.
Perhaps it can be found in Ratatouille, the pixar film about a rat chef in Paris…
Not everyone can become a great artist, but a great artist can come from anywhere.
